Chris Ruffle

Chris Ruffle has worked in China since 1983, first for the metal trading company Wogen Resources, then for the broker S.G. Warburg, and latterly in fund management where he played a pioneering role in opening up the Chinese A-share market to foreign investors. Chris established the specialist Chinese fund manager Open Door Capital in 2011. In another pioneering effort, Chris planted his own vineyard in Shandong in 2005, and now claims to make the best wine in China. In addition to My Thirty Years in China, Chris has also written A Decent Bottle of Wine in China and the play Before the Wall.
